The Belgian Pneumaticlub is also about the joy of being out on the water with friends, taking part in and learning to organise trips that you wouldn’t undertake on your own. Not to mention the added safety offered by sailing in a ‘flotilla’. It’s also about getting together at the Club House for talks and sharing a good meal.

Visits to historic sites

The BPC takes you on a journey to discover iconic locations, such as Mont Saint-Michel, the cliffs of Étretat, London and Fort Boyard. Enjoy unforgettable experiences and immerse yourself in the history of these unique sites!

Open sea

Out on the open sea, our RIBs criss-cross the waters around an imposing platform, symbols of exploration and tenacity. The sun shines down on these intrepid crews, ready to take on whatever challenges the horizon may bring.

A harmonious flotilla: an adventure on inland waters

Six RIBs, one shared goal: to enjoy the freedom of the water. At BPC, every trip is an adventure shared among enthusiasts, even amidst the most peaceful landscapes.

At the Belgian PneuMaticlub, diversity is our strength.

Whether you’re a fan of RIBs or prefer hard-hulled boats, you’ll feel right at home with us. What matters is sharing our common passion for boating, whatever type of boat you choose.

History

The Belgian Pneumaticlub was founded in 1976 by Michel de Hemptinne

Michel de Hemptinne, who had been sailing the English Channel and the Mediterranean for several years now in the company of a few fellow enthusiasts.

After a trip from Brussels to Antalya in 1971, followed by a journey from Iceland to Norway in 1973, he was planning a new adventure: a rally from Singapore to Australia.

His aim was twofold: to bring together the many tyre enthusiasts and to support his ambitious project for the journey he would undertake in 1977.

Before long, enthusiasts of inflatable boats joined him, and a sailing club unlike any other was born.

What makes it unique is that it is a club without its own port facilities, offering its members the chance to sail in a flotilla, both at sea and on inland waters, and to undertake as a group what one might hesitate to do alone.

A lot has happened since then, whether our hulls are soft or rigid, but our enthusiasm remains undiminished and our goal remains unchanged.
